Since these two trips have so many members in common, we will be combining trips #1 and #5 for our required practice hike and gear check at Afton State Park. Bring mostly everything that you will be bringing on your trip in the pack that you will be carrying for the trip, along with some snacks and at least a liter of water. After we get the groups together and meet and greet, we will be taking a hike of a few miles or so along the river at Afton.
After the hike we will be breaking off into our individual trips with the crew leaders to discuss any logistics such as times, car pools etc. and a brief Q and A.
We will be meeting at the far parking lot by the visitor's center. State Park Permits are needed to enter but if you do not have one, we can arrange a ride from the park entry. Event will be at 6 p.m. at Afton State Park, 6959 Peller Ave S · Hastings, MN
