This is the required meet & greet and gear check hike for Trip #6 "Pelt Creek to Flapper Creek" led by Rod Markin and Lynn Schwartz.

We will spend part of the time discussing logistics for the May 6-8 trip. Others are welcome to come along and walk with us as we go over gear choices.

We will meet at Tamarack Nature Center, 5287 Otter Lake Rd, White Bear Township, MN 55110. We will go over gear, clothing, footwear, shelters, water filtration, and tools. We’ll check your pack for comfort and make sure that you have what you need, but not too much, for a safe and comfortable adventure on the Powwow Trail.

We will have copies on hand of the liability, medical, and USFS volunteer agreement forms for signing. After the gear discussion, we will head out for a hike while we continue to get to know our fellow crew members and talk about what to expect on our upcoming trip.

• What to bring
Dress for the weather. Bring the full backpack that you plan to carry on the trail, 1 liter of water and a snack.
