This is the planning meeting and training hike for BWAC #2 spring survey crew with Paul & Susan: Barbara, Verena, A.J., Matt, Susan, Paul and Goeran.
If you are interested in a spring afternoon Mississippi River hike, a gear dump and review, and don't mind sitting through a BWAC crew logistics meeting, feel free to join us next Sunday. Questions: Susan 612 644-4562.
Let's get together to make sure every one is ready to rock the Powwow April 28-May 1. We'll go over conditions and challenges we may expect on our circumnavigation adventure. Also on the agenda are trip logistics such as any shared gear, tools, departure time and carpools.
For this hike, bring most of what you plan to pack in on the trip itself (food optional). There will still be a few weeks left to tweak our kit after this meeting and before we depart.
Meet at noon, 2500 Seabury Ave. S, Mpls MN 55406. We'll walk north one mile to the picnic tables at Annie Young Meadow where we'll dump our packs for a gear check. Then we'll circle tour West and East Mississippi Parkway and return to our starting point and cars.
The hike from start to finish is just under five miles. See map in the photo section below.
There is a biffy at Annie Young Meadow.
