PRIORITY REGISTRATION
👀
This hike is reserved for BWAC fall crew #14 until after August 15th.
After August 15, we welcome up to five hikers to RSVP and join us for our crew gear check and an afternoon hike.
Crew #14
This is the required Meet & Greet hike for the Sept. 16-19, 2021 Powwow Trail fall clearing crew #14, led by Barbara Platnick and Mark Jurmu.
Location
Coon Rapids Dam Regional park trails.
We will show-and-tell and check gear check for about an hour. We'll check your pack for comfort and essential gear in preparation for our Sept 16-19 adventure on the Powwow trail.
After the gear party we will head out for our hike on the Coon Rapids Dam Regional trails.
The hike will last just over an hour, and will be 1/2 wide gravel trail, and 1/2 single track through the woods trails
WHAT TO BRING
Bring your full backpack (food optional), 1 liter of water, and at least two questions about what to bring or not bring on trail. We will still have two weeks left to tweak our packs after this hike but plan to have most of what you are bringing with you on trail. We will for sure be checking sleep system, tent, rain gear (remember rain? it could happen), and backpack. We'll talk about layers, food, cook kits, and other essentials.
WHAT ELSE
It's a Meet & Greet! We will meet each other, go over our trip plan, and hash out carpools and departure details.
Thank you for volunteering. We are excited to be getting out on trail with you.
Fine print: No pets. Kids at your discretion. The hike is about 2 miles and we will all stay together for the entire hike.
