Trip #12: Day trip: Trail clearing on the Brule Lake Trail

Help preserve wilderness trails for future generations to enjoy!
Join Lucas and Mel on a one-day clearing trip to the Brule Lake Trail.
All are welcome - no trail clearing experience is required.
BWAC will provide safety training, safety equipment and clearing tools.

Itinerary: Saturday September 7, 2024
8:30 am - Volunteers arrive at US Forest Service Tofte Ranger Station
9:00 am - Orientation and safety training
9:30 am - Arrange carpools and travel 1 hr to the trail head parking lot
10:30 am - Review safety and goals
Lunch and breaks as needed
4:30 pm - return parking lot and carpool back to Tofte Ranger station

Volunteer expectations: You should be in good physical shape for a full day of travel, bending, kneeling, and operating a hand saw or loppers. Must have a "can-do" attitude for unknown trail and weather conditions.

Volunteers will provide: Day pack, no cook lunch, snack, two liters of water, durable footwear, pants, long sleeve shirt, hat, RAIN COAT, and personal WORK GLOVES.

BWAC will provide: Safety training, eye protection, head protection, clearing tools, and a thank you gift.

All participants must sign the BWAC liability release, BWAC medical health form, and U.S. Forest Service volunteer agreement at the Tofte Ranger Station. Review forms at www.BoundaryWatersTrails.org Our volunteer crew leaders reserve the right to deny participation for any or no reason.
