Join BWAC members and friends on a Minneapolis lake Fall hike. We can talk about the POWWOW trail this past season and talk about future meetings and maintenance of the trail.
Hike Details:
• Departure 8am from the north side of the Lake Nokomis Beach parking lot.
• Distance and Difficulty: We will walk just under three miles on paved paths--no off-trail bushwhacking.
• Weather: It is expected to be ~48 degrees and I expect the trails to be soggy, so plan accordingly. Hopefully nicer!
• Hear about and ask questions about hiking and backpacking on BWCAW trails, and what participating in a Boundary Waters Advisory Committee (BWAC) trail clearing trip is like. Spring will be here before you know it and BWAC will be in the wilderness restoring the legacy Powwow Trail in the BWCAW. We invite you to join us.
• Fine print. Phones in airplane mode. No alcohol. Tobacco-free. The hike will take about an hour and we will all stay together for the entire hike. I also ask that masks be worn the entire time and we will maintain a 6 foot distance from one another to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
• What to bring. Check the weather and dress appropriately and your mask. Bring water and a snack if you would like. Footwear appropriate for all weather is best since you never know.
Feel free to message with any questions!
